RESEARCH YOUR ANCESTORS

What these classes are:

This course consists of a total of 16 classes covering genealogy, history, economics from places worldwide, and related records.

The key to your success finding your ancestors is history and economics. If you don't know what was going on in a particular country at a particular time, you won't know where to look for records about your ancestors. Included in the class is a thumb drive with resources discussed in class and additional information like maps of Europe that show how the countries change over time. Bring a thumb-drive to class to download this information.

What these classes are not:

The classes are not for people who want to learn how to use genealogy websites like Ancestry.com or Familysearch.com. The handouts do cover which genealogy sites are more useful and which are not, which require subscriptions and which do not.

Registration: Date is 6/24/2021. Cost: $TBD for 16 classes. There isn't any way to register through the SMAE Web site so email Inge at ihb146 AT eskimo DOT com.
